A groomed pet takes a beautiful picture, yet grooming can be a stressful experience. Bathing a day or two prior usually works well, and we recommend cuts be done a week ahead of the session to allow the fur (and your pet) to relax a bit.

We don’t use unnecessary props in the photos. If you have a special toy, blanket or something you would like included in the photo, please let us know. Having the item cleaned up as much as possible makes a nicer end product.

We prefer to photograph without collars and leashes although at times they may be necessary for safety or practicality. A collar without tags is recommended and can be edited out of the final picture. If you’re session is in a public place we certainly prefer your pet wear a collar with identification tags.

Natural light works best on location.

Please don’t feed your pet right before we arrive! We may use treats to lure your pet into position and get their attention. It’s helpful if they are interested in what we have!
